However, while KOTOR 2 's game-crashing Switch bug has been resolved, fans who want to play through the game with the deleted missions, quests, and story developments of the Sith Lords Restored Content DLC will have to wait indefinitely. Meanwhile, Asypr was previously going to develop a remake of the original KOTOR for the PlayStation 5, but this project was transferred to Saber Interactive following production issues. This prevented players from completing KOTOR 2, but thankfully a patch corrected the problem a few weeks later. When it was first released a few months ago, KOTOR 2 had a glitch that caused the game to crash when players visited the jungle planet of Onderon. This isn’t the first controversy surrounding the Nintendo Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. Some of these players have mentioned that the idea of playing through some of KOTOR 2’s deleted content was the main draw of KOTOR 2's Nintendo Switch port, and others like Twitter user yamiflorence have refrained from starting the game due to previous reports that old saves won’t be compatible with The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC. Aspyr still hasn’t given any announcement that KOTOR 2 DLC is being held back, confusing fans further. Reddit user ItalianDonutMaker pointed out that today marks the end of 2022’s third financial quarter on r/kotor (via NintendoLife).
